This is an awesome Android phone.
mine came with 2.1 pre-installed.
what you see is what you get, works perfect on AT&T,
i do not get a 3G signal, but its on HSPA and my upload is 800k, download 1.5k or more.
Sony UI kind of disappoints me, due to the fact that you cant put multiple apps on main screen, but that is not a big deal at all....
extremely happy with this Sony X8 E15A, if buying in the USA, make sure to get the E15A, NOT the E15i
